Every Picture Tells A Story...

Wayne Hyde's audio legacy dates back to 1989; a career that uniquely encompasses hands-on audio experience with both live sound, and residential audio systems.

My story...

By the age of fifteen, I was obsessed with music and HiFi. The bedroom walls were covered in popstar posters, I built my own AV furniture and all eight corners of the room had a loudspeaker!

In 1989 I turned seventeen, started a sound engineering course in Paddington and found myself mixing live bands and operating lights and lasers every night in London's West End. After that I landed at Jumbo Rehearsal Studios where I met many of the upcoming dance, jungle, ambient acts and indie and rock bands of the 90's.

Some of those bands took me along for the ride, a career path that took me worldwide, mixing concert sound in small smokey clubs to cavernous sports arenas.

From 2000 onwards, I added Tour Managing duties, alongside mixing sound for bands, to my resume.

Then in 2005 a big change, on to more delicate audio adventures, now working 9 to 5 (just like Dolly) with HiFi and Home Cinema sales and smart home installation projects.

I've been fortunate to have been involved in so many areas of sound. Live, studio, commercial and residential audio all pose passionate conversations from professionals about theory and design. It's an invaluable opportunity to explore art, science, and sometimes the unexplainable. I'm always learning something new.
