A beautiful boardroom...this recently completed 'DSP Configuration' project in central London featured a very neat set up for high-end video conferencing. The room looked spectacular with brand new contemporary furnishings and fittings. I really enjoyed working in this space along with the very professional integrators.
Shure MicroFlex dual and tri element microphones were used, four microphone bodies along the table offered a total 10 mic elements for picking up clear audio from delegates. Audio was configured through a 12 channel Polycom SoundStructure connected with Conference Link to a Group 500 series video codec.
Logic controlled LEDs and Muting for the microphones got a little tricky at one point as the wiring for each microphone body was combined from either the 2 or 3 elements. Normally each microphone would have it's own set of logic wires. Once pin numbers were selected and soldered, the results were very slick. A light touch of the Shure MX396 button muted all 10 capsules and LED's changed to red. This mutes the sound of the attendees during a voice or video conference call.
The system was set up for AMX control from an iPad mini with individual control of audio source input volume such as programme audio, voice call and video call.
